What’s the difference between butted and grouting when it comes to paving?

Aside from cost, with grouting being the more expensive option, the difference comes down to how we finish your paving job:

  • When you choose butted pavers, we simply lay the paving pieces down on the concrete base as tightly as we can and seal them in with sand and concrete
  • Grouting on the other hand works much more like the tiles in your bathroom or kitchen, where the pavers are glued to the concrete in your chosen arrangement and grouting material is used to fill in the gaps.
